PICKUP OR DELIVERY SERVICE - LIMITED ACCESS LOCATIONS

The following provisions apply when the consignee or consignor of a shipment is located at a limited access location, which includes, but is not limited to  schools, universities, colleges, country clubs, farms, ranches, military bases, military sites, nuclear power plants, prisons and correctional facilities, container freight stations,  public self storage facilities (including household and commercial type facilities), camps, churches and places of worship, airports (Note 1), funeral homes, day cares, nursing homes, construction or wrecking sites, government facilities that require inspection or other points not open to the general public for commercial purposes and any other sites requiring inspection of driver or vehicle before permitting access to the site.

When carrier is requested or required to pick up or deliver a shipment from or to a limited access location as defined herein, a charge of $8.50 per 100 pounds subject to a minimum charge of $85.00, subject to a maximum charge of $250.00, will be assessed in addition to all other charges.  The charge or charges provided for in this Item shall apply separately for pickup and delivery, and unless the Bill of Lading (Shipping Order) is specifically endorsed to show prepayment of all charges, the charge or charges shall be collected from the party that is responsible for payment of the freight charges (debtor).

• Note 1:  The term "Airport" shall be defined as any facility, which is subject to the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”) where aircraft such as airplanes, helicopters, and blimps take off and land.
• Note 2:  Shipments consigned to contractors at construction or wrecking sites will be delivered to such sites whether or not the consignee’s representative is on hand to receive the shipment unless the carrier has received specific instructions to the contrary, prior to the loading of the shipment.
