Pittsburgh, PA (August 30, 2013) - PITT OHIO a transportation and logistics company, has been named one of Pittsburgh´s Top Workplaces for the third year in a row. Owner Chuck Hammel was honored with the distinction of top executive in the large company category.

Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette newspaper, Workplace Dynamics, LLC determines the list and rankings based solely on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees. The Top Workplace list includes 85 companies in 2013.

PITT OHIO Wins Breathe Award

Pittsburgh, PA (August 30th, 2013) - PITT OHIO received one of the first Breathe Awards honoring work to improve the region’s air quality. PITT OHIO accepted the award from The Breathe Project during a ceremony at the Hill House Association on September 5.

PITT OHIO has demonstrated commitment to improving our air quality by operating a modern, well-maintained fleet of trucks, tractor trailers and vans; leveraging on-board computers to measure MPG (miles per gallon) per truck, terminal and region; requiring progressive and proper shifting and speed management; instituting anti-idling policies; retrofitting company facilities to reduce energy and water consumption; and participating in the Pittsburgh Green Workplace Challenge and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay Transport Partner program to reduce air pollution in freight delivery.

Breathe Project is a coalition of residents, businesses, and organizations working together to improve air quality in the Pittsburgh region for the health and economy.

PITT OHIO Earn Honors from the Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA)

Pittsburgh, PA (June 13, 2013) - The Transportation Marketing and Sales Association (TMSA), the leading organization dedicated to advancing the success of marketing and sales professionals in all transportation modes, has announced the winners of its 61st Annual Compass Awards program. PITT OHIO, received two Compass Awards in the categories of Direct Marketing Campaign and Web-Based Marketing & Sales at the annual awards gala held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida earlier this week.

Compass Awards honor individual companies in the transportation and logistics industry for their commitment to raising the standards for best marketing and sales practices. PITT OHIO submitted two entries to be judged against the best in the transportation and logistics organizations throughout North America and both received awards of merit. This is the second year in a row PITT OHIO has received recognition from the TMSA.

There were 80 entries from various transportation companies that entered the Compass Awards this year. Only 7 received Awards of Merit in the Direct Marketing Campaign and Web-Based Marketing & Sales categories.

PITT OHIO Receives President’s Trophy from Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association

Pittsburgh, PA (May 28, 2013) - PITT OHIO announced today that they have been awarded the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA) President’s Trophy. The award is recognized as being the highest safety award presented by all carriers that are members of Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association.

The President´s Trophy is presented by PMTA and its Safety Management Council to one carrier in Pennsylvania with the lowest accident frequency.

PITT OHIO´s Vice President of Safety and Risk Management, Ron Uriah, was honored to compete for the Presiden´s Trophy with the best motor carriers in the state. "This is an outstanding achievement from our employees" Uriah said. "We appreciate the dedication and focus to highway safety that our drivers show throughout the year while performing their daily assignment as professional drivers working in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions. We also appreciate the dedication of our Senior Driver Trainers and the excellent equipment provided by our fleet service technicians.
