Pittsburgh, PA (October 29, 2012) - PITT OHIO, a transportation and logistics company, has been named one of Pittsburgh´s Top Workplaces for the second year in a row.

Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette newspaper, Workplace Dynamics, LLC determines the list and rankings based solely on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees. The Top Workplace list includes 85 companies in 2012.

Companies of all sizes in Pittsburgh participated in the 2012 "Top Workplaces" survey, and PITT OHIO ranked 6th in the Large Companies category. PITT OHIO Wins DuPont Sourcing & Logistics 2011 Outstanding Service Award

Pittsburgh, PA (September 27, 2012) - PITT OHIO has won the DuPont Sourcing & Logistics (DuPont) 2011 Outstanding Service Award in the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) category.

This award is given to the LTL carrier that displays the best on-time performance, lowest claims, and overall highest commitment to safety. PITT OHIO has won this award 10 times and consecutively since 2007.

In the category of Outstanding Achievement in Web Development

Pittsburgh, PA (September 25, 2012) – PITT OHIO announced today that they have received a 2012 Transportation Standard of Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development. This award is presented by the Web Marketing Association to recognize work above and beyond the standard of excellence.

The Web Marketing Association's annual WebAward Competition has been setting the standard of excellence for Website development since 1997. Judges from around the world gather to review all sites entered in 96 industries. The websites are judged on the following categories: Design, Interactivity, Technology, Content, Innovation, Copywriting and Ease of use to target audience.

This is PITT OHIO´s third time receiving the Transportation Standard of Excellence Award and fourth consecutive WebAward since 2009.

Company Receives Honor 6 Consecutive Years

PITT OHIO Wins Volvo Logistics Quality Award

Carrier Receives Logistics Award

Pittsburgh, PA (August, 2 2012) - PITT OHIO announced that they have won the Volvo Logistics Quality Award for 2010. The award was presented to PITT OHIO’s Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Geoff Muessig on July 9, 2012 from Volvo Logistics Director of Purchasing, Tim Kubiak.

There are nine main categories Volvo uses to evaluate carriers performance. Those categories are: Contracted Payment Terms, On-time Service Performance, Claims Ratio, Cargo Liability Coverage, EDI Invoicing Performance, Receivables, Financial Stability, Environment, and Safety. Volvo reviews these metrics with their carriers on a quarterly basis and there is an action plan for improvements at the end of every quarter. The award is given annually to the carrier who excels in these areas.

Michael Molitoris, Senior Purchasing Manager, Logistics Services comments, "All carriers are measured against aggressive targets in these nine various categories. The bar is set very high and only a small select group actually wins an award."

Media product and services company recognizes PITT OHIO for Outstanding Service, Claims Ratio and Customer Satisfaction

Pittsburgh, PA (July 2, 2012) – PITT OHIO announced that is has been named the 2011 LTL Carrier of the Year by its customer SuperMedia, a media product and services company. This is the sixth award for PITT OHIO from SuperMedia.

The company evaluates carriers annually for its Super Service LTL Carrier of the Year award on a range of criteria, including Service, Claims Ratio and Customer Satisfaction and a score above 99% is required to receive the award. SuperMedia presented the award to PITT OHIO at a recognition event at facility in Harrisburg, PA on June 5.

PITT OHIO Honored for Safe Driving

PITT OHIO Honored for Fleet Safety Awards by Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia State Associations

Pittsburgh, PA (June 7, 2012) – PITT OHIO announced today that is has been honored with three safety awards. The company won first place in the General Commodities LTL Over 15 Million Miles in Pennsylvania, first place in the LTL Division Over 4 Million Miles in Virginia, and first place in the 2,250,000 – 3,000,000 Miles intercity Fleet Safety Award and also the Grand Champion Award in West Virginia.

PITT OHIO Vice President of Safety and Risk Management, Ron Uriah, said, "Our drivers and vehicle maintenance personnel take great pride in PITT OHIO's commitment to a solid safety performance. I am proud of their dedication and professionalism and thank them for exceeding industry standards year over year."

The Fleet Safety Awards were open to all members of the State Associations in Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia and were based on Department of Transportation recordable accidents and total miles driven within the state between January and December 2011. They were sponsored by the Great West Casualty Company, one of the largest insurers of trucking companies in the United States.
