At the end of 2024, PITT OHIO reached a significant milestone of 100,000 all-time electric miles driven. The company deployed its first battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in mid-2022, which have been active in fleet operations since. This initiative has not only provided valuable data and experience but also led to substantial emissions savings, with an estimated 112 tons of carbon emissions avoided by just six BEVs.

In December, PITT OHIO introduced its first fully electric off-road “yard horse” at one of its terminal locations, further showcasing its commitment to innovative solutions. Looking ahead, the company plans to double the size of its BEV fleet in 2025 to continue evaluating new technology and maintaining its commitment to environmental stewardship.
